For some people, winter is a time to suffer with red, dry, scaly skin on their hands. Not only is it unattractive, it can be downright painful.
Why does it happen only in the winter months? Wintertime in most places means drier air, and that leads to drier skin, which is particularly noticeable on hands. In addition, people tend to be more aware of sickness, and so may wash their hands more, which strips away the moisture in your skin. It’s made worse by all that hand sanitizer everyone is using these days.
Hand sanitizer, while good at killing germs, may be your skin’s worst enemy. While some do include aloe, this is hardly enough to stop the alcohol they also include as a main ingredient from drying out your skin. If you use hand sanitizer, immediately follow that with a good moisturizer to replenish the oils that the alcohol in the hand sanitizer takes away from your skin.
Sometimes, it can be more than simply unsightly dryness. Some people who suffer from extremely dry skin may actually develop cracks in their skin, which can lead to some pretty serious infections.
One of the biggest culprits in the winter is dry air, in and out. Indoors, with the heat cranked up high, the moisture-sucking air leaves skin vulnerable. One of the best things you can do is keep a humidifier going. This puts moisture back in the air and back on your skin. One night with that humidifier loading moisture into the air, and you’ll see a dramatic difference in your skin.
If you have a wood or pellet stove, your house is going to be even drier, making a humidifier a necessity.
Another key to keeping your hands soft is to slather on a good quality moisturizer several times a day. Look for moisturizers with multi-vitamin and natural ingredients. To keep your hands looking good and healing that dry, rough skin, you must continue to moisturize every time you wash your hands. Otherwise, you are washing away the moisturizer and losing the benefits of the lotion.
While your hands are the first thing you notice when your skin is drying out, don’t forget the rest of your body. Arms and legs can often become irritated because of the dry air, so make certain you moisturize your entire body every day.
Winter can be tough on skin, but if you counter that with some gentle treatment, your hands will survive in style.

Below you’ll find five of the best, most effective methods of dealing with toe nail fungus. Give them all a try and you should be able to kill that fungus before it really begins to develop.
Use Your Wife’s Hair Dryer
This is a great way to keep your feet dry. When you step out of the shower, after swimming, or any time you’ve spent all day sweating in your sucks, use a hair dryer on your feet. Get under the nails and make sure that your entire foot is bone dry. It’s sort of a hassle to work this into your daily routine, sometimes two or three times a day, but it works, and it’s necessary. In fact, even if you use one of the other methods on the list, make absolutely sure that you couple it with this one for best results.
Use Vick’s Vapor Rub
A sort of unorthodox method of fighting foot fungus. In the morning, when you put on your socks, put a little bit of Vick’s Vapor Rub underneath each toenail. Just make sure that your feet are completely dry beforehand or you may trap moisture underneath the nails. This takes a little bit of time, but it gets the job done and helps to stave off further fungal growth underneath your toe nails.
Foot Bath
Now and then, soak your feet in a warm foot bath for twenty or thirty minutes to soften the toenails, and then clip away all the excess nail. You’ll be a little grossed out at first. The fact is you’re going to be surprised at how much of your nail you’re losing to the infection. But clipping those icky extra nails are absolutely necessary if you want to inhibit the growth of the fungus. Essentially what you’re trying to do is not give them a place to stay anymore.
Vinegar Foot Bath
Not too much vinegar. It helps to keep your PH levels down in your feet, which will prohibit the further growth of the toe nail fungus and eventually kill the fungus altogether. Sure it leaves your feet smelling like hobo wine, but it’s a great way to get the job done. This will require three to six months of religious application every single day, so it’s slow, but it works, it kills the infection.
Get as Much Air to Your Feet as Possible
Keep your feet nice and ventilated, at all times. Wear sandals, go barefoot, keep the hairdryer by the bed. Whatever you gotta do to keep’em dry, keep’em dry.
Foot fungus sucks, and toe nail fungus is the worst. But if you know how to deal with it, if you catch it early, you can stop it before it becomes a serious problem.

The skin is the largest organ of the body. Being the largest organ requires a lot of maintenance to keep up with being healthy. There are many products out there that can be used to maintain proper skin care. There are many different products for every part of the skin and for all age groups.
One of the products that can be found in just about anyone’s home is lotion. The main purpose of lotion is to help out dry skin. Dry skin can happen after washing hands or when the seasons change. Lotion will help with that and will moisturize the skin. There are even scents that are added to some of the lotions to give them a good smell. Creams are used on the face to help with dry skin. Some of these creams had added moisturizers that fight wrinkles and smooth out the skin.
Aging skin is another type of problem. The main place people are concerned about aging skin is on the face. There are creams made for the face for this problem. Some creams will moisturize the skin. Others will attack the wrinkles on the face to remove them and make them less noticeable.
The skin is another place that products target with acne. Acne is a huge factor at just about any age. There are numerous products made to combat this. There are face washes, there are astringents, there are even pads made to combat and kill off the bacteria that cause acne. Acne products are made to cater to each age group so everyone does have few products available to them.

What In The World Is Functional Keratin In Skin Care?

If you’ve spent any time reading about skin health and skin care you’ll start reading about keratin pretty soon. What is it?
You can find keratin in many parts of our bodies. It is a very strong protein that can be found in parts of our bodies like our hair and nails, and our skin.
It is produced in the epidermis of our skin by cells called keratinocytes, and these keratin cells slowly come to the surface of our skin where they form a protective layer of dead skin cells on the surface, and slowly slough off over time.
Keratin has some vital roles in maintaining the function of our skin. It produces some waterproofing qualities, for example. But the main function of keratin in our skin is to promote skin strength and elasticity.
Our skin needs these qualities and as it ages it starts to lose some keratin and so lose some strength and elasticity.
So you would assume that it’s good to use skin care products that contain keratin, but that’s wrong.
The reason is that the process used to produce the keratin found in mainstream skin care products is a process using heat and acid, and this “denaturalizes” the keratin into a form that is of no use to the skin.
So what is functional keratin? This is keratin that is extracted from the wool of sheep without using heat or acid, and so it is not denaturalized. It is functional in the sense that it is still in a form that is available for the skin to use.
It is only recently that this process has been perfected by one small company that makes it and has patented it. It is put into a product called Cynergy TK that is used only in the worlds very best skincare products.
Studies on the results that use of Cynergy TK can produce have been impressive with visible results within a short time, a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines and an improvement in the complexion.
Cynergy TK is expensive, and so the big brand name skin care products don’t use it. But it is possible to get skin care products that contain Cynergy TK, and they aren’t more expensive than other skin care products. Why? Because the big brands spend their budget on advertising, whereas the small niche company spends it’s budget on product quality.

So many women lust after beautiful skin. I’ll bet if you gave 3 wishes to women, particularly older women, somewhere on their list of wishes would be beautiful skin, right into their older age.
Why is beautiful skin so important to women? Because beauty is important to women, and the skin is what shows their beauty off to the world. Great looking clear skin is the basis of looking good.
You can’t look beautiful if your skin looks terrible.
My job today is to give you 4 tips that, as long as you follow them, will lead to beautiful clear skin, into old age. Here’s 4 beautiful skin tips for you.
1. Start early.
So many women don’t get around to taking care of their skin until well into their 40s or even 50s. If you really want to take the best care of your skin you need to start as early as you can, preferably while your skin is still looking great.
Why is it good to start in your 20s when your skin still looks great? Because that’s the time when the deterioration of your skin health starts.
Now of course that’s not to say that if you’re in your 40s, say, its too late. But if you’re in your 20s and you start on a great skin care routine you’re way better placed to achieving great looking skin. Early is better.
2. Stay healthy.
Overall health is one of the most important factors in great skin health. A healthy body makes for a healthy skin.
It my sound entirely obvious that if you stay healthy your skin stays healthy, but it’s something that, despite being obvious, so many women don’t think of. You need to do all the things you already know about staying healthy.
So all those things you read about your diet are important, like reducing salt and sugar intake, and eating lots of fresh vegetables and fruit for lots of anti oxidants. This is good for skin health and overall health. And it leads to a healthier heart which is also good for skin health.
And of course lots of exercise is also important for skin health too.
The bottom line is this. You cant have great looking glowing healthy skin if you’re overweight and live on a diet of pizzas and burgers, never exercise and a walk to the fridge gets you puffing. Take care of yourself and your body will take care of your skin.
3. There’s 2 things that are terrible for your skin. Avoid them.
What are the 2 worst things you can do for your skin? Smoking and sunburn. Both are just terrible for skin health, and you’re unlikely to have great looking beautiful skin if you smoke 40 a day and get burned every weekend. You must avoid these.
4. Use the worlds best skin care products.
Yes you may have read that skin care products don’t really work, and in many cases this is true. Most of the big brand name skin care products found in the stores are overpriced, and do only limited good to your skin. But modern science really does know what makes skin healthy and beautiful, and there are many excellent natural skin care products that contain naturally occurring ingredients that really are known to be highly beneficial to your skin.
Avoid the big name skin care products which use mainly chemical ingredients that are cheap to manufacture and often not good for your skin.
So there’s my 4 beautiful skin tips. Follow these and you’ll have great looking clear skin into your older age.
