Anti-aging: How And Where To Start? The Big Question For Every Girl Out There?

I am currently in the 18-23 age bracket and have been advised, marketed to and pressured into jumping on this bandwagon that seems to suggest spending a great deal of cash for anti-aging products is an investment in the future?
Is this true? Is a simple routine of cleansing and moisturizing not enough? Are there any of you wonderful know-hows out there that can suggest some basic, natural (no parabens.. etc.) formulas or cremes to start with? And are eye cremes really that necessary?
I heard that Origins is a wonderful, organic brand to start with, but the saleslady kept pushing so many products, I became confused with what was good for me and what I’m expected to buy.
Please shine some light on this for me! My future skin and I greatly appreciate it! :)

Just use moisturizer.. it’ll help out your skin, and ALWAYS take off your makeup before you go to bed. If you do that you’ll be fine.

You need one good facewash, one moisturiser/sunscreen, and toner is optional. I use Origins (my skin is very sensitive to Neutrogena, Clean n Clear, Proactiv, etc.) and always get pressured by the sales people, though I know EXACTLY what I’m getting.
You can browse their site by skin type. At this age, you will want to focus on acne, if you have it, and anti-aging.
dry skin- tightness all over, flakiness, redness
combination skin (me)- tightness around eyes/mouth, oily t-zones
oily skin- clogged pores, frequent oil
normal skin- skin is not obviously oily after a couple of hours and you do not experience tightness/itchiness
Anti-aging is usually just a regimen of an exfoliator to be used every other day and a daily sunscreen. My dermatologist suggested Aquaphor over ANY eye cream on the market.

My top anti-aging recommendations would be to start young and wear SPF all year round. At your young age I would say that you don’t need to spend loads of money on expensive anti-aging creams, but it’s important to moisturise every day. Most foundations now contain SPF making it easy for you to incorporate sun protection into your daily routine (the biggest cause of premature skin aging is over exposure to the sun).
Bare Escentuals is without a doubt my favourite foundation brand – the mineral powers last for ages and contain SPF. The brand have also now started doing skincare which is also rather good.
