I believe we are already rethinking many of these things.
but i think we should do faster. And we probly will.

In the future as aubrey de grey stated
a future retirement in an oppose aging world might work a lil like this
work 50 years, retire 10-20 years then work again. or after retirement switch jobs.

  9. #9 by curingaging00 on November 28, 2009 - 12:19 pm

we are already rethinking pollution, air quality oceans and energy. there are huge goals to clean up oceans, replant forests, stop our contribution to the global warming. stop pumping soot into our atmospheres.
    solar energy is growing.

and we have cleaned some things up. lead for example, we decades ago stopped pumping lead and the lead contant in atmospheres dropped.
education will indead change drasticly. in the past education has became much more advanced.

curingaging00. Yes, great changes create different choices. As our children watch us live into our 90’s/100’s they will most likely b in their 70’s; their children will b in their 40’s (hopefully sane and sober.) The society will have a whole new emotional situation to deal with. Medical community will undergo a total overhaul. Will our brains work the same under all the medical changes? I think not.

We will have 2 rethink employment, education, pollution, air quality, forests, oceans soon!

  11. #11 by curingaging00 on November 28, 2009 - 1:15 pm

It’s estimated we spend over 2 trillion dollars in usa alone on elderly on healthcare.
old people need far more medical attention then younger ones.
if we could reverse aging, we could save alot of money.
alot of savings mean that we would be able to tackle other problems much sooner. more money to fund technical advances. and fund an end to poverty. poverty breeds overpopulation and violance.

some say “what about water chrisis”
well There will be new ways. some ways include taking large quantities of water, boiling it and take the steam and condense the it into water. theres other ways but I will look them up later.

the age at which places with higher lifespans have children are often much later then those in poor nations where lifespans are much shorter.

agriculture will continue to advance. vertical farms will one day be a reality. and since 14% of land is used for farming and 2-4% for cities, vertical farms and other advances will raise the number of people we can hold on this earth.

and besides, if one can remain youlthful for thousands of years, won’t many choose to have kids at later age?

  14. #14 by curingaging00 on November 28, 2009 - 3:34 pm

not so. the earth probly won’t overpopulate. cause the longer one lives the later one will be able to have children.
look at the birth rates compared with ones in europe/usa and compare with those in africa,
in africa the average lifespan is often less then 50. people there often dont expect to live past 50. and average birth rate >4.
however in europe and us, things are brighter, average lifespan 70-85 and the birth rates are less then 2 and dropping. they also have kids at later age

Well, it sounds so freaky though it would be possible some day in near future that the gradual and natural process of ageing will be reversed or eliminated completely that a person will be immortal or will live upto 1000 years. If so, the World will be obviously over populated and people will kill each other or even eat (Cannabalism) as there will be lack of food. I think it shouldn’t be done. Look before you leap. Think what would happen when that comes a reality.

  18. #18 by supajive on November 28, 2009 - 5:42 pm

it would be badass because i would kill other people if the world was overpopulating, i would hog the fountain of youth for myself and my trusted sidekick. so it wouldnt be boring at all.

  19. #19 by icelolli1161 on November 28, 2009 - 6:04 pm

Although the idea of never getting older sounds appealing, it’s also silly.
If we never died, and “hogged” the planet, there would be no children as then there would be too many people.
There would be no old people.
There would be no new people.
Everyone would just be frozen at one age.
    How boring would THAT be?

  20. #20 by maltadrift on November 28, 2009 - 6:32 pm

if this is possible then 1 day there will be people having alot more kids cuz they would be able to have babies at almost any age and then live as long as 110yrs each kid and each kid has the same thing then over population will come really fast and we may not have the technology to go to another planet.thebest thing is that r scientists will live long and help with progress in there feilds

  21. #21 by curingaging00 on November 28, 2009 - 6:39 pm

as we grow old, we would require SIGNIFICANTLY more medical help, we would need to get alot more pills and see doctors alot. If we didn’t grow old we could remain youlthful, require ocassional medical help and doctor visits. thats another reason why an end to aging would help the economy
this is just something i added to the bottom post.

  22. #22 by curingaging00 on November 28, 2009 - 7:38 pm

Since per year in usa alone we spend 2 trillion dollars on elderly in healthcare and several other things, an end to aging would save alot of money and it would be extremely benificial to the economy.

for If aging were reversable, we’d be as healthy as our 20s and early 30s, we would be very healthy, and we wouldn’t grow old weak and require alot of healthcare.

  23. #23 by ajm789789 on November 28, 2009 - 7:42 pm

Yet again, something happens and there are two choices –
    - The hard way: look into it and find out why, get proof of why.
    - The easy way: do nothing and say it was a mystical being that no one can see and that there is no proof of.

  24. #24 by ajm789789 on November 28, 2009 - 8:05 pm

Curing aging would have a massive financial gain, and not dieing is a fantastic incentive for any atheist at least.

On another note why dose everyone have to be an idiot to each other. Do you seriously think that swearing at someone on a youtube comment makes you better than them? I just makes you look like a pathetic looser with nothing better to do.
